After missing out on the Deputy President position in Kenya Kwanza Alliance, Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki has announced that he will be taking a break from active politics from 10th August 2022 and hence he is not available for any public appointments.
Addressing the Press at the Tamarind Tree Hotel in Nairobi the Senator said “I have decided that I will not be seeking for any appointive position whatsoever. I will however remain available to my country should an opportunity arise to seek leadership positions at the national level in the future”

Kithure however said that he was extremely satisfied with the process that the Kenya Kwanza coalition followed in identifying the running mate H.E. William Ruto adding that the sum total of all the considerations pointed at Rigathi Gachagua as the most suitable candidate and that he had called him to offer his congratulations and support.

He said that after soul searching, he decided to remain in UDA and Kenya Kwanza and pledged to support Deputy President William Ruto. ” I don’t feel short-changed because the decision for me to quit county politics was arrived at by consensus between myself and the party. What we hoped would work has not worked”
