A DNA test released today has confirmed that the late Matungu member of parliament Mr. Justus Murunga only fathered one out of the two children alleged to be his.
Upon his death, there were controversies surrounding the burial of Mr. Murunga after a woman by the name Agnes Wangui emerged from nowhere to stop the burial, claiming that the late was her long time lover.
According to the woman, they had sired two children with the fallen Matungu Mp and as a result, she wanted the two to be recognized in the obituary as Murunga’s children.
However, Murung’as two widows rejected the idea, claiming that they did not recognize Agnes Wangui. The dramas that ensued saw Wangui go to court in a bid to stop the burial to allow time for realities to be unravelled.
The ruling judge ordered that a DNA test be conducted to find out if Wangui’s claims were true. In the meantime, burial went on as the aggrieved parties waited for the results of the DNA test.
With today’s results of the DNA test linking one child to the later legislator, it is evident that the two were lovers as previously claimed by Agnes Wangui.
