Deputy president William Samoei Ruto has revealed that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is planning to rig him out in the forthcoming general elections.
While addressing the European Union ambassadors on Thursday, Ruto alleged that voters from his strongholds have been expunged from the IEBC register and according to him, almost 800,000 names have disappeared mysteriously.
“We will take a position on this matter. We are writing to IEBC because there was an attempt to obliterate names from the IEBC register. They are not only sabotaging the constitution but they are active agents of undermining a transparent election.” he said.
With regards to the IEBC officials, Ruto added that the public officials in charge of ICT hinted to him that they have the data that can influence who wins or loses the elections.
“They say they are in charge of data that will make whichever side win. That undermines the credible elections. We expect friends of Kenya, the EU to speak to issues of credible elections,” he posed.
