The Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Mr. Wafula Chebukati has dispelled allegations by a section of politicians that there was a conspiracy to print extra ballot papers.
Speaking during a stakeholder engagement forum with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance at the Hilton Hotel in Nairobi, the Chairman said that the commission has printed 22 million ballot papers commensurate to the number of registered voters.
He also announced that he was headed to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to receive the 1st batch of ballot papers which are arriving today.
The IEBC chair assured the country that the IEBC is an independent institution and that they are ready for the August 9th elections despite competing distractions from politicians. “You may be unhappy with us we are following the rule of Law, we will not not waiver in our objective of delivering the elections.
