Barely a month after decamping from the Azimio One Kenya Alliance, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has today announced that he has dropped his bid to vie for the Presidency of Kenya in the August 9th general elections and resolved to go back to Azimio and support the Azimio One Kenya Coalition ticket of Raila Odinga and Martha Karua.
Addressing a press conference in Karen this afternoon, the former Vice President said that he has consulted widely and come to the realization the the future of our nation is indeed squarely on our shoulder. “As a people, the true measure lies in our ability to discern when the nation is bigger than an individual and therefore after deep introspection, I have decide to defer my dream to run for President of the Republic of Kenya.” Said Kalonzo
Kalonzo said that after consultation with his party and supporters, he will accept with humility and appreciation the appointment as Chief Minister in the Azimio One Kenya Alliance when they form the next government. Kalonzo also took the opportunity to congratulate Senior Counsel Martha Karua on her nomination as Deputy President of the Azimio coalition and assured her of his full and equivocal support for the ticket.
Kalonzo is then proceeded to Mkuru Kwa Njenga in Nairobi where he will join Azimio flag bearer Raila Odinga for a joint rally.
