Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange died at the Nairobi hospital on Wednesday morning. The legislator who was the Chairperson of the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security succumbed to COVID-19 related complications.
The late Koinange was elected on a Jubilee Party ticket in August 2017 and has served as the co-Chair of the National Prayer Breakfast committee.
President Uhuru Kenyatta sent a message of condolence to the family and residents of Kiambaa Constituency saying that he has lost a dependable leader.
Other leaders who have sent messages of condolence include KANU leader Gideon Moi, Interior CS Fred Matiangi and many others
“I am broken by the terrible news of Hon. Paul Koinange‘s death. A father figure and great model of a christian leader, I mourn him in truth and deep frustration. He was the indisputable steady and stabilising factor in the National Assembly’s National Security Committee” said Matiangi
