Azimio leader Raila Odinga attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the LV Marina complex in Kisumu, a significant development located on the shores of Lake Victoria, nestled between Riat and Nandi Hills. This project marks a pivotal step in Kisumu’s evolution as a forward-thinking city.
Odinga emphasized the importance of high living standards for urban centers, which include quality housing, education, healthcare, and job opportunities. He stated, “The best way to give every resident a stake in a city is to provide them with a good home.”
He acknowledged the challenges posed by rural-urban migration, noting that Kisumu faces issues related to unplanned settlements that often lead to poor living conditions and increased crime. The LV Marina complex aims to address these concerns by enhancing living standards and demonstrating the private sector’s capability to partner with local authorities in resolving housing challenges.
Odinga expressed his gratitude to Governor Hon. Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o and City Manager Mr. Abala Wanga for their leadership and support of the project. He also recognized GulfCap Real Estate and Hon. Suleiman Shahbal for their dedication.
