UDM now decamps from Azimio to Kenya Kwanza

The United Democratic Party (UDM) has abandoned the Azimio One Kenya Coalition and joined President Elect’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

UDM leaders led by Mandera Senator Ali Roba led a delegation to the official residence of the Deputy President. Roba who is the immediate former governor of Mandera took to his social media to say “The least expected in partnerships is respect. We have been struggling to fit within Azimio but we became the unwanted guests. It is not about positions but the feeling of belonging somewhere where you feel recognized, respected and consulted. The country must move on.”

“We salute the United Democratic Movement (UDM) leadership for abandoning Azimio La Umoja and joining Kenya Kwanza” said President-elect Ruto.

UDM Party Leader and Mandera Senator-Elect Ali Roba, Deputy Party Leader and Marsabit Governor-Elect Mohamud Ali and Mandera Governor-Elect Mohamed Adan Khalif were present at the Karen Residence, Nairobi County.

Others were Deputy Governor-Elect Mandera Ali Maalim, Wajir Senator-Elect Abbas Sheikh, MPs Umulkheir Kassim (Mandera), Bashir Abdullahi (Mandera North), Kullow Hassan (Banisa), Joseph Lekuton (Laisamis), Mangale Munga Chiforomodo (Lunga Lunga), AbdulEnrahim Haro (Mandera South) and Adan Haji (Mandera West).
