Amani National Congress leader Hon. Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula have put to a halt their many political activities in the Western Kenya region.
The two Luhya leaders have been on a political mission to unite and rally the region behind them amidst the rising political temperatures in Kenya in preparation for the 2022 elections.Their several visits has seen them being at loggerheads with the police officers who have on several occasions accused them of flouting the covid-19 regulations.
At some point, the two leaders plus their supporters have had to face the ruthless nature of our police officers while dispersing them to achieve social distance and discourage public gatherings. “We have called off public engagements so that there is minimal exposure,” said Hon. Musalia.
“The rallies will resume to a later date that will be announced by a committee led by Hon. Sakwa Bunyasi,” added Hon. Wetangula.
This move comes barely two days after the head of the public service released a circular reminding the Cabinet Secretaries to follow the Covid-19 rules and guidelines amid a surge in Coronavirus infections.
