Migori County Speaker Mr. Boaz Okoth has alleged threats to his life amid the push for the ouster of Governor Okoth Obado from office.This comes barely two days after the Orange Party made a resolution with some Migori MCAs to impeach Mr. Obado over the graft allegations.
While addressing the press today, the county speaker gave a detailed narration on how some strangers accompanied by the Secretary General of Orange Democratic Movement Mr. Edwin Sifuna ambushed him in his hotel in Kisumu on the night of 4th of September 2020 at around 11pm . ” I was attacked yesterday in the presence of the ODM secretary General Sifuna and whoever was attacking my bodyguard is allegedly his brother Peter together with some goons,” said Boaz.
Boaz claimed that the attackers thought that he was hosting some MCAs in a bid to sabotage the much hyped impeachment process of the county boss.He also alleged that he heard them rant “It is your day we are going to deal with you.”
The speaker called out the level of desperation and stated that he is not a party to that debate and his role is only to preside over the motions presented to the house and communicate the decisions.He reported the matter to the Central Police Station in Kisumu.
