Former Nairobi Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke today tendered his resignation to the Wiper Democratic Movement.
In a letter dated 4th September 2020, Mr. Mueke expressed his intention to resign from the National Executive Council as well as relinquishing his Platinum membership from the party.According to the letter, his major ground for resignation was premised on the changing political landscape that focuses on bringing a better tomorrow for the youthful population, something which Wiper no longer espouses.
He went ahead to thank Wiper Democratic Movement for granting him the opportunity to be its flag bearer for the Westlands Parliamentary seat in 2007 as well as nominating him to deputize the former Nairobi Governor Evans Odhiambo Kidero both in 2013 and 2017. Amongst the legacies he will be remembered for include popularizing the party nationwide and establishing the first ever Wiper Party office in Nairobi County with proper structures and grassroot leaders to give it visibility.
He however did not disclose his next political move with words going round that he may be joining one of the major political parties or coalitions in the country ahead of the 2022 General Elections.
