The widow of the late Charles Bukeko commonly known as Papa Shirandula has blamed Karen Hospital accusing them of negligence.
While addressing mourners today in the morning at Samia village, the widow said that the facility did not consider her husband’s condition an emergency on Saturday morning when she took him to the hospital.
She said the Karen hospital staffs took too long to attend to her husband who was in a critical condition. “They did not consider his condition an emergency and as a result, he passed on at the waiting bay,” said Beatrice Andega.
She added that the icon died inside his car while waiting for the admission from the hospital. They had originally requested the facility to conduct three tests of pneumonia, malaria and Covid-19 but the health officials only paid attention to Covid-19 and assumed the rest.
The family now plans to seek detailed explanation from Karen hospital on the events of the fateful day the artist passed on.
