There was standoff today evening within the vicinity of Nairobi County Assembly after the Members of County Assembly aligned to the embattled Governor Mike Sonko stormed the City hall.
The MCAs allegedly went to present a motion to impeach speaker Beatrice Elachi, a move that did not go well for them because they had to face the wrath of the unforgiving security officers who were manning the area.It is not clear why the police officers descended on them with such violence.
Speaker Elachi and governor Sonko have been on continuous push and pull following the transfer of power from Governor Sonko to the Nairobi Metropolitan Service.It seems Elachi’s move to back general Mohammed Badi has not gone well with the embattled Governor Sonko and the MCAs aligned to him.
