Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has made known his plans to begin nationwide campaigns in support for the Building Bridges Initiative.
The declaration comes at a time when ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta are rallying for constitutional reforms, a move he now wants to be part of.
The party made the resolution following a two day retreat in Machakos by the National Executive Council even as it planned to field out a presidential candidate in the next general election.
In a statement, the eastern kingpin said that the expanded executive will ensure an all inclusive government as well as strengthen devolution, saying that pining BBI to be a fight between two leaders was hilarious.
Kalonzo said the proposed constitutional reforms would bring to an end the vicious cycle of electoral violence in the country, as Kenyans will have the sense of inclusion in the government.
” More than ever before, we clearly see why we need the BBI framework; when merchants of violence who thrive in political bitterness and threats are regrouping,” said Kalonzo
He further remarked that leaders with penchant for chaos have no place in the post- BBI Kenya noting that he fully supports President Uhuru Kenyatta’s call for a unified country.
The party has since launched a membership recruitment drive, targeting to tap the youth in the 2022 polls strategy.
