Wendy Muthoni, the daughter of Water Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki has been laid to rest in her rural home Muchemi, Nyandarua County.
Wendy, who was a second year student at JKUAT Karen campus passed on at Nairobi hospital last week in an unclear circumstances.President Uhuru Kenyatta condoled with the family on Sunday and assured them of his unlimited support as they come into terms with such a loss.Deputy President William and Former Prime minister Raila Amollo Odinga also eulogized the late Wendy describing her passing on as unfortunate.
During her burial, security was beefed up in the area with villagers who went to mourn and pay their last respect to the late Muthoni barred from attending.Only a few invited mourners were welcomed at home to follow the burial ceremony.
The remains of the deceased left Lee Funeral Mortuary today in the wee hours of the morning and arrived in Muchemi village at around 10.30AM in a chopper.Those present were high level government officials and various political leaders from the area.
