Global Peace Leadership Africa Virtual Conference kicks off in Nairobi

The much awaited Global Peace Africa Virtual Conference kicked off this morning with various leaders around the globe taking part.

The conference, which was organised by The Global Peace Foundation Kenya in partnership with the Standard media Group and National Cohesion and Integration Commission, was meant to bring together many stakeholders around the world to discuss about education and sustainable peace and development during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Participants who spoke in the high level opening plenary included the international President of the Global Peace Foundation Mr. James P. Flynn, Dr. Manu Chandaria, Hon. Eugine Wamalwa, Dr. Samuel Kobia, Mr. Siddharth Chatterjee, Mr. Orlando Lyomu, Archbishop Ole Sapit, Dr. Esther Muchemi, Hon. Muruli Mukasa of Uganda and Mr. Daniel Juma who moderated the entire session.

“Leaders are valued by proactively building peace at every level,” said President Flynn.On his part, Dr. Chandaria insisted that humanity must find ways of reaching out to one another when faced with such challenges as the pandemic, a point which was emphasized by The Standard CEO Mr. Orlando Lyamu and all the other panelists.

Devolution Cabinet Secretary Hon. Eugine Wamalwa officially opened the conference on behalf of President Kenyatta and called upon leaders to increase cross border trade as opposed to cross border conflicts.The second session of the Global Peace Virtual Conference resumes tomorrow Friday 31st as from 11AM to 3PM.
