IEBC seeks Ksh. 61.7 Billion for 2027 General Election

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced that it requires Ksh. 61.7 billion to facilitate the upcoming 2027 general election.

During a session with Parliament on Tuesday, Deputy CEO Obadiah Keitany revealed that part of this budget, amounting to Ksh. 7 billion, is earmarked for boundary delimitation, although the commission is still awaiting a court advisory on this matter.

Keitany also shared projections indicating that the commission expects an influx of approximately 5.7 million new voters, bringing the total voter population to around 28 million for the 2027 elections.
