KCB Group appoints insider Paul Russo as new Group CEO

The KCB Group PLC Board has today appointed Paul Russo as the company’s Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) effective May 25, 2022.

In a message posted on the bank’s social media pages, Mr. Russo replaces Mr Joshua Oigara who has resigned from the bank after almost ten years as the Group Chief Executive Officer.

46 years old Russo rises the KCB owned National Bank of Kenya where he has been Managing Director. Born in Laisamis, in Marsabit County, Russo has worked in the banking sector for more than 18 years having worked for Barclays Bank (now ABSA), National Bank of Kenya, K-rep and KCB. He also worked briefly with Unga Limited and Kenya Breweries.

Russo attended primary school in Laisamis and was later admitted to Mangu High School for his KCSE after which he joined Moi University to do a Bachelor of Arts program. He would later graduate with a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from Strathmore Business School.
