President Uhuru Kenyatta today hosted his Sierra Leonean counterpart, President Julius Maada Bio on Monday, 30th May 2022 at State House Nairobi for bilateral talks after which, the following seven (7) agreements were signed:
- Agreement on the Establishment of a Joint Commission for Cooperation;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Political and Diplomatic Consultations;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Trade and Investment;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Wildlife Tourism;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Culture and Arts; and,
- Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Youth Affairs.
President Kenyatta was accompanied to the talks by Cabinet Secretaries Dr Fred Matiang’i (Interior), Amb Raychelle Omamo (Foreign Affairs), Amb Amina Mohamed (Sports), Joe Mucheru (ICT), Prof Margaret Kobia (Public Service), and Betty Maina (Trade).
President Maada who arrived in the country on Saturday for a five-day state visit is expected to be the guest of honor during the Madarak Day celebrations on 1st June 2022.
