ANC party expels Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala

Senator Cleophas Malala

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has this morning been expelled from the ANC.  This follows a decision by the party’s governing council which met on 26th June 2020 at the offices in Lavington.

According to the party, Senator Malala had continually disrespected the party leader Musalia Mudavadi choosing to instead recognise ODM leader Raila Odinga as his leader.

In the November 2019 Kibra by-elections, Senator Malala went against the party by campaigning openly for ODM’s Imran Okoth instead of the ANC candidate who emerged 3rd in the elections.  He subsequently failed to honour party summons to discipline him on that matter.
