Modern Coast bus plunges into Nithi River killing 24

More than 24 people may be dead following an accident in Tharaka Nithi involving Modern Coast bus travelling to Mombasa on the Meru-Nairobi Highway.

The accident occurred on Sunday, July 24, after the bus driver lost control and veered off the Nithi Bridge rolling severally downhill before stopping beside the Nithi River. Several bodies have been spotted on the bus, in the river and along the river bank.
