In a notable reshuffle within the government, former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa and ex-Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga have been appointed to significant state roles.
President William Ruto announced Jumwa’s appointment as the non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Roads Board for a three-year term, as detailed in a gazette notice released on Friday. This move comes after Jumwa was dismissed from her cabinet position in July of the previous year. She takes over from Ahmed Kolosh Mohamed, whose term was abruptly ended following the appointment of the new Trade Cabinet Secretary, Lee Kinyanjui.
In another key appointment, Mary Wanjira Kimonye has been named the Vice-Chairperson of the Public Service Commission, a role she will occupy for six years. Additionally, former IEBC Commissioner Boya Molu has been selected to serve as one of the seven members of the commission for the same duration.
The newly appointed members of the Public Service Commission also include Harun Maalim Hassan, Mwanamaka Amani Mabruki, Francis Meja, Dr. Irene Cherotich Asienga, Joan Andisi Machayo, and Dr. Francis Otieno Owino.
These appointments reflect President Ruto’s ongoing strategy to enhance leadership within vital state bodies, signaling a new direction for governance as the administration continues to navigate key challenges facing the nation.
