IEBC clears Sirisia MP John Waluke despite his Conviction

Sirisia MP Hon. John Waluke has been sent to jail for 67 years after being found guilty in the 297 million maize fraud scandal.

In a ruling issued today by Anti-Corruption court judge Elizabeth Juma, the MP and his co accused have been given the option of paying Kshs. 1 billion to avoid going to jail for defrauding the NCPB Ksh.313 million.

Charged alongside the MP was Ms Grace Sarapay Wakhungu, who was ordered to pay a fine of Kshs. 1 billion or face a 69-year jail term and Erad Supplies & General Contracts Limited (Erad).
