After a brief recession due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ODM leader Raila Odinga has started on a grand tour to show up and support the Building Bridges Initiative that had taken root in a some counties country wide.
Speaking to the residents of Kakamega County , Raila noted that time was ripe for constitutional amendment.
Speaking to Kakamega MCAs at Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s residence, he noted that the coast is clear and that “reggae will resume”, encouraging the western leaders to support the call or a referendum .
Mr. Odinga further added that the Building Bridges Initiative, born from the March 9, 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and himself was to ease the tension that came about from the 2017 general elections and its recommendations meant to unify the nation and address some issues facing the citizens.
“The BBI report will not only be advocating for a referendum but will also act as a check and balance on some flawed laws and recommend the ushering of new ones ” , said Raila.
Raila added ” BBI is not solely about constitution amendment but will also target to unite all communities in the nation.”
