The United Kingdom plans to pump Sh. 998 million into Kenya this year, part of which is geared towards helping the Kenya Defence Forces in its operations against the Al-Shabaab in Kenya and Somalia.
A report highlighting the proposed strategies was signed by the Kenya Cabinet Secretary for Defence , Ambassador Monica Juma and the UKs Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace.
The bilateral agreement will focus on fresh approaches to lessen extremists attacks and counter terrorism in the two regions.
The ministers agreed to fast track dialogues on Somalia and to support the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) with transition plans to hand over the security responsibility to the Federal Government of Somalia in the future.
Under the endorsed defence partnership, British and Kenyan military will heighten their joint education and training in both countries.
