Kenya’s funny Television star Charles Bukeko, commonly known as Papa Shirandula has died Saturday morning in Nairobi after testing positive for Covid 19.
According to Shirandula’s brother in law Ronald Wanyama, the popular TV actor had experienced difficulty in breathing and was rushed to the Karen Hospital. “It is sad he didn’t make it out of the hospital alive. He had tested positive for Covid-19. We are devastated,” he said.
According to Wanyama, the comedian fell sick on Sunday after returning to Nairobi from Western where he had travelled briefly.
Papa Shirandula was the star in the Citizen TV comedy series ‘Papa Shirandula’. The Royal Media Services MD Wachira Waruru expressed shock at the sad news and condoled with the family.
“On behalf of the Royal Media Services, I wish to convey my sincere condolences to the family and friends of popular TV actor, Charles Bukeko who passed away this morning,” he said in a statement.
