Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has revoked the appointment of Ms Pauline Njoroge as board member of the Tourism Regulatory Authority.
The CS said on his twitter handle “I am revoking Pauline Njoroge’s appointment as a board member of Tourism Regulatory Authority” and attached a Press Release dated 8th August 2020 explaining his decision.

Balala had appointed Pauline Njoroge in a gazette notice dated 7th August 2020 but the appointment caused an online uproar from a section of Kenyans who criticized her as undeserving due to her past views criticizing the necessity of having the Nairobi National Park so close to the city of Nairobi.
“We do not want to be associated with such people and such thinking” says Balala adding that the integrity of the Nairobi National Park is very important and that the government is committed to saving the Nairobi National Park and any other protected areas which is the habitat for our national heritage, wildlife.
In the statement, Balala has appointed TV journalist Najma Ismael to replace Ms Pauline Njoroge. Other members of the TRA board are Mr. Kevin Muasya, Mr. Alais Lenana Momoi and Mr. Isaac Muchiri Njangu.
