Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon won the women’s 1500m hit to qualify for the semi-final at the ongoing World Championships in Eugene on 16th July morning in 4:04.53 followed by Australian Jessica Hull who finished second in 4:04.68 while Ethiopia’s Freweyni Hailu Hailu came third in 4:04.85.

Fellow Kenyan who is African champion Chebet also qualified automatically after finishing second in her heat securing a ticket for tomortow’s semi-final with the best time of 4:03.12, finishing second behind Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay who timed 4:02.68.
