Kenyan Olympian Faith Kipyegon won the 1,500 meter race at the Eugene Leg of the Diamond League, the Prefontaine Classic in the US.
The win which is the ninth fastest in the 1500m history now sets her up towards qualification for the World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
Kipyegon beat Ethiopia’s World Championship bronze medalist Gudaf Tsegay who timed 3mins, 54.29secs.
28 year old Kipyegon specializes in 1,500 metres and is the second woman in history to claim back-to-back Olympic 1500m title after winning the 2016 Rio Olympic and 2020 Tokyo Olympic respectively.
