Irungu Kang’ata removed as Senate Majority Chief Whip

Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju this morning announced that they had removed Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata from the Senate Majority Chief Whip and replaced him with Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi.

Tuju blamed Kang’ata for discussing confidential party matters in public adding that his continued stay as Chief Whip was no longer tenable.

“His biggest failure as far as leadership is concerned was discussing private matters with other parties. You don’t kiss and tell. It is that breach of confidentiality that has made his position untenable,” Tuju said.

Tuju added that Kang’ata’s failure to honour meetings from the party’s top leadership contributed to his removal as Senate Majority Chief Whip.

Kangata on his part blamed ODM leader Raila Odinga for his removal. “We should not use BBI to divide our people. I am now noticing that this problem seems to have started after the handshake, now imagine the guy of handshake becoming the president of this country.” he said.
