Juja Member of Parliament Francis Munyua Waititu alias Wakapay died on Monday 22nd February 2021 after battling brain cancer for several months.
Waititu’s death was announced by his family who released a statementto that effect. “It with deep sorrow that we announce the Passing on of our Loving Dad Hon. Francis Munyua Waititu. May His soul Rest in Eternal Peace and may God Grant him the Divine Grace to accept His will,” the family said.
Several leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto and KIambu Governor William Kabogo sent messages of condolences to the family of Hon. Waititu.
“We’ve sadly lost a very progressive, trusted and committed leader whose public actions always reflected the interests of his constituents. It is because of the trust and love that the people of Juja had for Hon Waititu that they entrusted him with a second term in a very competitive election despite his illness,” the President said.
Deputy President William Ruto described Waititu as a selfless, bold and gifted legislator with an affable personality who transformed many lives.
On his part, Kabogo who previously served as Juja MP described Waititu as his friend for over 30 years.
Newsbreak was informed that the legislator passed on at MP Shah Hospital on Monday evening after a long battle with brain cancer.
