Kericho UDA Women Representative candidate Beatrice Kemei has made history as the 1st member of the 13th Parliament after being the only one to be cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). As a result Kemei has been elected unopposed and is only waiting to be gazetted by the IEBC and sworn in.
Kemei who is a teacher by profession first run for the same seat in 2017 under the PDR party and emerged second with more than 100,000 votes.
Kemei won the UDA nomination for the Kericho Women Representative by beating 5 other aspirants including Florence Bore who is the current Kericho Women Representative.
Kemei who has a Masters in Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University and a Barchelor of Education from teh same university is married to Joel Kemei and blessed with four children. She is from Sigowet/Soin sub-County of Kericho County.
