Kenya’s President-elect William Samoei Ruto spoke to the outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta on phone after more than a month of not getting in touch.
“I had a telephone conversation with my boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta. We discussed the just concluded General Election and the transition as envisaged by our democratic tradition and practice.” said Ruto on his social media.
Ruto and president Kenyatta were close allies from 2013 until 2018 when their relationship was affected by the handshake between President Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
President Kenyatta is scheduled to hand of the presidency to his deputy on on Tuesday 13th September 2022 at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.
