Raila Odinga hosts clergy at his Karen home

Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga has hosted religious leaders at his Karen residence in Nairobi Kenya.

Flanked by his running mate Martha Karua and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and other leaders from the coalition, Odinga said he and his allies decided to file a petition at the Supreme Court.

“We don’t want violence to erupt in Kenya. We’ll fight for justice in court. What the IEBC conducted as an election was an absolute joke. That’s not how you manage polls,” he said. Odinga and his team have until 2pm on Monday, August 22 to formally lodge their case.

Mombasa Archbishop Martin Kivuva, who is also the chairperson of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops and Anglican Church of Kenya Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit who spoke at the event said they were pleased that Odinga had chosen constitutional means to resolve the electoral dispute.
