The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal has upheld a decision by the Jubilee Party to expel six nominated senators for gross misconduct. This therefore allows the party to write to the Registrar of Political Parties and Parliament for the the Senators to be removed as Jubilee Party members.
The six Senators Isaac Mwaura, Falhada Dekow Iman, Naomi Jillo Waqo, Victor Prengei, Mary Seneta Yiane and Millicent Omanga had petitioned their expulsion leading to the setting aside of the move to give them a fair hearing in court.
According to the Jubilee Party secretary General Raphael Tuju, the 6 were expelled for gross insubordination and gross misconduct. Tuju said the six never bothered to send apologies for not attending the Parliamentary Group meeting despite being invited.
